We currently have a job opportunity at Perth Surgical Shoemakers for a suitably qualified Surgical Bootmaker. 

The Surgical Bootmaker should be familiar with most of the following task:

• Patient evaluation (gait analysis and clinical feet assessment).
• Custom moulded Orthotic impression taking and scripting.
• Measurement for custom made footwear and Ankle Foot Orthosis (AFO’s).
• Manufacture of EVA moulded orthotics according to script using oven heated EVA moulded in a vacuum press before trimming on a finishing machine and covering with appropriate material.
• Last Design.
• Pattern Design.
• Hand Lasting.
• Modifications to readymade footwear (raises, flares, wedges, rocker soles, bubble patches, etc).
• Finishing of custom manufactured footwear.
• Shoe repairs.
• Customer serving as part of a workshop team.
